Sydney, ‘the Emerald City,’ is the gateway to Australia and is ranked as one of the top 10 cities in the world. The city, which is only 220 years old, has grown up around the bays and inlets of Sydney Harbour and is home to the iconic Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and endless sandy beaches.
4.5 million people live in Sydney, and it is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. The cosmopolitan nature of the city has brought great food and diverse cultural activities. This lively city is complemented by the vast tracts of surrounding national parks, including the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley wine growing region, and even more beaches up and down the coastline.
We hope you will stay for a longer visit and enjoy Sydney and its surrounds. You may like to consider starting or ending your visit by coming via Perth in Western Australia or New Zealand. Don’t forget other unique and breathtaking places to explore in Australia: the Tropical North, including the Great Barrier Reef; Central Australia and Kakadu in the Northern Territory; and The Kimberleys in Western Australia.
